Rev. Christopher Goelzer
Position: Pastor


Pastor Christopher Goelzer graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1996.  He was assigned to King of Kings Lutheran Church in Alexandria, LA.  In 2000 the South Central Mission board issued a divine call to Pastor Goelzer and his family to start an exploratory mission on the North West side of San Antonio, TX.  In 2009, Pastor Goelzer and his family were called to serve St. Luke’s Lutheran Church & School in Oakfield, WI from 2009-2017.

The Lord brought Heidi Schmidt and Christopher Goelzer together as husband and wife in 1993.  The Lord showered them with his grace not only with Christian friendship and companionship, but also blessing them with 4 beautiful children: Charis , Nathanael, Anastasia and Gabriel.  Charis and her husband Paul are expecting their first child at the end of December, a baby boy.  Pastor Goelzer and his family are excited to bring God’s powerful Word to the families of Good Shepherd and the community of Deltona.  


 
Scott Bischoff
Position: Church President


Scott has been a member of Good Shepherd since 1998 and is currently serving as congregational president. He has been married to Laura since 1984, who works as office manager at Good Shepherd Academy. They have been blessed with 3 children, a son who serves in the military and two teen aged daughters. Scott is employed as a telephony engineer for a large global corporation. He loves being outdoors and enjoys time fishing, gardening and raising chickens.
 
Serving the congregation as president gives Scott the opportunity to honor God in a unique way. He gets to meet and interact with many different people all with a common goal: to spread the gospel and reach those are lost.

 
Danny Wehmeyer
Position: Board of Education Chairman
Joshua Fitzgerald
Position: Long-Range Planning Chairman


Joshua has been a member at Good Shepherd for 3 years now.  He is the Chairman of the Long Rang Planning Committee.  Joshua is married to Katie who works at the front desk of our school.  They have two kids  The oldest is Ethan who is 7 and Quinn who is 3.  In his free time he loves to run obstacle races with other members of our church. 

What Joshua enjoys most about serving on the Long Range Planning Committee is assisting in making difficult decisions and planning how we can better spread the word of God to the members of our church                                              and our community.

 
Dale Henry
Position: Fellowship Chairman


Dale Henry has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 2000.  He currently serves on the church council in the position of Fellowship.  His primary duties include working closely with the other council members, the Fellowship committee and the PTO in planning the church Fellowship activities.

Outside of church Dale works as a design engineer.  He and his wife Janet have three children, Jennifer, Larry and Roger. He also has been blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren.  Dale was raised around music his whole life and really enjoys singing in the church choir.  Dale also loves riding his Harley and target shooting.

His favorite part of the Fellowship position is providing activities that bring members together to form a stronger Church                      body.  Dale's goal is to continuously encourage the congregation to make a stronger spiritual family. The Bible tells us, "Let                  us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as                            you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25).

Larry Whiteley
Position: Elder

 

Larry has been attending Good Shepherd since 1999 along with his wife, Tracy, and 3 children, Michael, Tiffany, and Christopher. Tracy was church secretary for about 13 years, Michael lives in Daytona Beach, Tiffany lives in San Francisco, California, and Christopher lives in Orange City with them.

Larry has served as Treasurer, School Board Chairman, Vice-President, Building Committee Chairman, and is serving as Head Elder/Vice-President currently. Serving as Head Elder takes into account Altar Guild, Ushers, Greeters, and assisting the Pastor with the shepherding of God’s flock.
 
Larry enjoys researching his family tree (genealogy), all kinds of history, watching movies, and television. What Mr. Whiteley 
enjoys most about his current position on the council is having the opportunity to serve our                                      Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in assisting our church family in the ministries of fellowship and evangelism.
